How to Measure for a Sectional
- Measure both sides of the L and mark the outline on the floor with painter’s tape to see how much space it really takes.
- Pick the chaise side carefully. A “right-facing” chaise is on your right when you face the sofa. Many sectionals let you switch sides, but check before you buy.
- Leave walkways of roughly 30–36 inches, and about 16–18 inches between the sofa and the coffee table.
